Little did Willi Georg Vollenweider know that when he started his own chocolate business in Winterthur, Switzerland in 1943, that nearly 65 years later his delicacies would be sold halfway across the world in the Texas high desert town of Marfa.For over 160 years, the tradition of hand made chocolate has continued in the very store front in which Willi Georg Vollenweider first set up shop.
Today, his son and wife continue this tradition. Hansueli and Marianne Vollenweider still use recipes from Willi Georg and his master teachers, developing new creations based on age-old traditions and new world influences.
Each praline and chocolate bar is still made by hand from start to finish using only the finest high-quality ingredients including fresh Swiss milk and butter.
